يعد iPhone 12 Pro الأفضل حالياً ضمن سلسلة iPhone كلها. ولا يتفوق عليه حالياً سوى أخيه الأكبر iPhone 12 Pro Max. لقد عدلت آبل الكثير لجعل الجهاز جهازاً مميزاً فعلاً. عادت آبل الى التصميم القديم المحبوب كثيراً من كل الناس، تصميم iPhone 5 ذي الحواف الحادة. أما الميزة الأكبر كانت إضافة 5G، مع دعم الموجات الميليمتريه Sub6/mmWave التي تتميز بسرعات عالية جداً. وقامت آبل بزيادة صلابة الجهاز ومقاومته للماء والغبار. اما الشاشة فإنها مصنوعة من نوع جديد من الزجاج السيراميكي الذي يعد اقوى بـ 4 مرات من الزجاج التقليدي. وزادت حجم الشاشة قليلاً دون زيادة ملحوظة في أبعاد الجهاز. وحسنت أداء الجهاز بمعالج جديد قوي للغاية وزيادة في الرام. أما فيما يتعلق بالكاميرات فلم تكن التحسينات جوهرية خاصةً أن كاميرات iPhone 11 Pro كانت جيدة للغاية ولا مجال للتحسين عليها، إلا أن آبل أضافت كاميرا إضافية للمسح الثلاثي الأبعاد الفراغي للأشياء، لإستخدامها في تطبيقات تقنية VR المتعددة.
